Post-Show Stories
After volunteering as a seat filler for many award show, game show, competition show, and talk show tapings both in person and virtually over the years, I wanted to find another way to get involved through my writing. I have written post show stories for Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards in the past couple of years. I enjoy watching the show from home while taking the biggest moments of the night and organizing them in recap format.

Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards 2022
Back on April 1st, also known as Nickelodeon's birthday, I was granted the opportunity to write a post-show story on the 2022 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.
This is especially an honor for me, since I personally have been a fan of the KCAs since I was little. I watch the show every single year and even volunteered as a seatfiller during the 2018 and 2019 KCAs.
This is the first live audience KCA back from a pandemic era in history, and Nickelodeon continued to prove that Nick is Kids!
The slimetastic night took place on Saturday, April 9th at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California.
The show was hosted by iCarly star, Miranda Cosgrove and football tight end, Rob Gronkowski. Both hosts did an impeccable job keeping the show fun and full of humor. Miranda and Rob were also the show's grand finale slimings of the night.
Jack Harlow performed "Nail Tech", "Industry Baby" and "First Class". Kid Cudi performed "Stars in the Sky" and "Pursuit of Happiness (Steve Aoki Remix)". Both of these amazing performances ended in epic slimings.
There were 27 categories this year with Spider-Man: No Way Home and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series taking home the most blimps. SpongeBob SquarePants continued its winning streak for Favorite Cartoon since 2009.
This KCA not only made history for being the first KCA to include a live audience since 2019, but the show also made history for showcasing 1,000 slimings.
Slimings were happening not only at the Barker Hangar, but also remotely and virtually. It sounded like a difficult record to beat at first, but they did it!
The whole night was full of fun moments, incredible talent, a brightly colored stage, and an enormous amount of slime! Yes, The 35th Annual Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards was truly an unforgettable night. Here's to more KCAs to come!
Thank you so much to Katelyn Balach from Nickelodeon for giving me this incredible opportunity.

Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards 2023
On March 4th, the slimiest night of the year took place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California. That night was the 36th Annual Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.
For this year's KCAs, it was a magically intergalactic experience. Bright colors, massive tongue slides, giant floating shoes, UFOs, and eyeballs are just a portion of what made up the imaginative stage and screen designs. The stage itself was even shaped like a giant green splat, which wonderfully accompanied Nickelodeon's all new rebrand!
Like the year prior, there were two hosts this year. The show was hosted by Nate Burleson and Favorite Female Creator winner, Charli D'Amelio. The co-hosts did a spectacular job keeping the show full of humor and energy!
In addition, the show had show stopping performances by Bebe Rexha who sang "I'm Good (Blue)", Nickelodeon star, Young Dylan who sang "I Just Wanna", and Lil Baby who sang "California Breeze".
There was a total of 31 categories this year, which included SpongeBob SquarePants continuing its winning streak for Favorite Animated Show since 2009.
This year's KCAs also included two special awards. A Lifetime Achievement Award was given to the Transformers franchise's own, Optimus Prime and Adam Sandler was crowned the King of Comedy.
36 KCAs later and Nickelodeon continues to prove that they are all about the kids! In going with this year's theme, the 36th Annual Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards was truly out of this world! Here's to more KCAs to come!
Thank you so much to Katelyn Balach from Nickelodeon for giving me this incredible opportunity once again.
